Homemade Dog Treats Recipe: Spreads™ Cookies
Looking for a homemade dog treat recipe that satisfies your pup's need to crunch and munch? New Fruitables Spreads can be baked into a cookie-like treat dogs love!
Making dog treats at home has never been easier. Just pick your pup's favorite Spreads flavor, scoop onto a cookie sheet and bake according to the instructions below.
- For pumpkin dog treats, use Spreads™ Apple Pumpkin
- For peanut butter dog treats, use Spreads™ Peanut Butter & Banana
- For coconut cookies, use Spreads™ Coconut Oatmeal
Baking Instructions
Cookie Size Minutes
1 teaspoon 6 - 7
1 tablespoon 7 - 9
2 tablespoons 9 - 11
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (conventional oven)
Step 2: Choose cookie size according to dog’s body weight and spoon portions of Spreads about 1 inch apart onto baking sheet
Step 3: Bake the appropriate number of minutes for desired cookie size or until the top of the cookie looks dry and the bottom of the cookie is solid and browned. Ovens vary and baking time may need to be adjusted. For more even baking, rotate pan halfway through baking time.
Step 4: After baking, cool cookies 2 minutes on baking sheet, remove to cool completely. Larger cookies can be broken into smaller pieces for smaller dogs. Or use your favorite cookie cutter to cut out shapes!
Tip: Fruitables Spreads can also be used in place of nut butters for homemade dog treats and other dog-friendly recipes.
